SportDataIQ ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Discord bot, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

2.1 Information from Discord
When you use our Discord bot, we may collect:
- Discord Server (Guild) IDs
- Channel IDs where the bot is configured
- User IDs of server administrators who configure the bot
- Bot command usage and interaction data
- Alert rule configurations and preferences
2.2 Information from Website
When you visit our website or dashboard, we may collect:
- Discord account information when you authenticate (username, avatar, user ID)
- Browser type and version
- Device information
- IP address
- Pages visited and interactions
- Referring website
2.3 Information You Provide
We collect information you voluntarily provide, such as:
- Configuration settings for alerts and notifications
- Feedback or support requests

2.4 Capper Studio beta list
If you join the Capper Studio beta list, we store the email address you give us and whichever optional details you fill in: your Discord username, your server's name or invite, how many cappers you run and whether you are an owner or a capper. We also record which page or campaign the signup came from, and a one-way hash of your IP address — never the address itself — so the form cannot be abused.
We use it for one thing: to tell you when your beta spot opens and to write to you about Capper Studio. We do not use it for anything else, and we never sell or rent it. Your signup is the consent we rely on, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Every email we send carries a Remove me link that needs no sign-in. Using it stops the emails immediately, and we then keep only a minimal record that you opted out, so you are not added again by mistake; ask us and we will delete that too. If you stay on the list, we delete your details 24 months after you joined at the latest, and sooner once the beta has opened and we have been in touch.
Two other parties see it: Resend, which delivers the email, and a private staff channel in our own Discord, where each signup is posted so the team can follow up. Nobody else receives it.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the Service
- To deliver sports scores, alerts, and notifications you've configured
- To authenticate users and manage access to the dashboard
- To improve and optimize the Service
- To respond to support requests and communicate with you
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We may share data with third-party services that help us operate the Service (e.g., hosting providers and Stripe for Premium payments). Our website analytics are our own; we don’t send visit data to third-party analytics services
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests
- Protection of Rights: We may share information to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. When you remove our bot from your Discord server, we may retain certain data for a reasonable period for backup, archival, or audit purposes. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies and Tracking
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in to the dashboard. Cookies are small data files stored on your device. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain features.
Website analytics. To understand how people find us, our public website keeps a random visitor ID and a visit ID in your browser's local storage and records, for each visit: the pages you view, the campaign tags in the link you arrived on (such as utm_source), the website that referred you (its domain only), your device type (mobile, tablet or desktop), your country (from our network provider), and whether you clicked Add to Discord. We do not store your IP address, we don't use third-party analytics or advertising trackers, and we don't combine this with your Discord account. Visits are deleted after about 13 months. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we don't record your visits at all; you can also clear your browser's site data to reset the IDs.
9. Third-Party Services
Our Service integrates with third-party services, including:
- Discord: We use Discord's API to provide bot functionality. Your use of Discord is subject to Discord's Privacy Policy.
- Sports Data Providers: We obtain sports data from third-party providers to deliver scores and statistics.
- Stripe: If you buy SportDataIQ Premium, Stripe processes the payment. Stripe collects your card and billing details under its own Privacy Policy; we receive and keep only what we need to run the subscription (your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, the plan, payment status and dates, and your Discord user ID and server) — never your full card number.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party services.
10. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
