How it works

Describe, preview, confirm, done. Nothing happens until step three.

    Describe

    Say what you want in plain English, the way you would ask a friend. Leagues, teams, players, which channel, who gets pinged.

  2. 02

    Preview

    You get a plan of channels and alert rules. Switch items off, rename or move channels, or ask for a change like “also add NBA first basket”.

  3. 03

    Confirm

    Press Confirm and it’s all set up. The button tells you exactly what it will make, e.g. “Create 3 rules + 2 channels”.

  4. 04

    Done

    You get a line per channel and rule saying what was created. If something fails, fix the reason shown and press Try again: only what is left is done.

Sign in at sportdataiq.com, pick your server and open Alerts. The button sits at the top of the page, and leads an empty Alerts page.

Run /setup in your server. A box asks what you want, and the plan comes back privately with Confirm, Change and a menu to switch items off.

What it can and can't do

  • Create alert rules for the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, WNBA and college football: scoring alerts, final scores, live game threads, injury updates, weekly standings, milestones and daily posts
  • Limit a rule to the teams or players you name
  • Ping an existing role, the server default, or no one
  • Post in channels you already have, or create new ones in a “SportDataIQ Alerts” category
  • Set the time zone, quiet hours and default ping role on a server that has not saved its settings yet
  • Take follow-ups on the same plan, like “put finals in #scores”

Safe by design

It sets up alerts. That's all it does.

Preview first
You see every channel and rule first, and it’s only set up when you confirm.
Create-only
It adds channels and rules. It never deletes or changes the ones you already have; duplicates show as “already set up”.
Admins only
Only members with the Manage Server permission can use it, in the dashboard or in Discord.

Daily limits apply. When they're reached, Set it up step by step lets you pick alerts and channels from a list, with the same preview and confirm.

Questions

Is Set up with AI free?
Yes. It is free for every server, no Premium needed. ✦ Premium alert types still need Premium: on a free server they appear in the plan as locked, with a note, instead of being created.
Where do I find it?
In the dashboard, open your server’s Alerts page and choose ✦ Set up with AI. In Discord, run /setup in your server. Both use the same assistant and the same preview.
Who can use it?
Server admins: members with the Manage Server permission in that Discord server. Everyone else can still get personal DM alerts with /follow.
Will it change or delete my existing alerts?
No. It only creates what is switched on in the preview. Rules you already have are never changed or deleted, and saved server settings are never overwritten. To edit or remove a rule, use the Alerts page.
Why does it ask for the Manage Channels permission?
Creating channels needs the bot’s Manage Channels permission, which the normal invite doesn’t ask for. If a plan needs new channels, the preview offers a one-click link to grant it, or you can put the alerts in channels you already have.
What if the assistant is unavailable?
The assistant has daily limits per member and per server. When they are reached, choose Set it up step by step to pick alerts and channels from a list instead, with the same preview and confirm, or add rules one at a time.
