Capper Studio & Capper Roster
For Discord servers with more than one capper. Capper Roster turns a role into a roster: everyone with your Capper role gets their own graded record and their name on their picks, while your server's house record keeps counting. Capper Studio gives each of them a web panel to post picks, check their numbers and change their name, so you never hand out Manage Server.
How it fits together
Part 1 · For server owners
You need Manage Server on the Discord server (the dashboard's alert-manager role isn't enough for the roster). Everything here is in the dashboard at sportdataiq.com/dashboard → your server → ✦ Premium.
Before you start
- The server is on Premium + Capper Studio. On the $5 Premium plan, use Upgrade to Capper Studio; without Premium, pick the Capper Studio plan.
- Capper Picks is set up: in Premium → Profile & branding, your server's name, colours and at least one picks channel (free, VIP or both). Cappers post into these channels.
- SportDataIQ can DM you. Notices like paused alerts and capper updates come by DM. Type
/dmsin your server once: it sends a test and, if Discord blocks it, shows you the Direct Messages switch to turn on. The dashboard also warns you when DMs to you are blocked.
Set it up in three steps
- Choose the Capper role. Premium → Cappers → Capper role. Pick a role you already use for cappers, or make a new
@Capperrole in Discord first. It's the same setting as “Picks role” in Profile & branding. - Give the role to your cappers in Discord: Server Settings → Members → the member → Roles.
- Send them the Studio link:
sportdataiq.com/studio/servers. They sign in with Discord and your server is listed. They can also post from Discord with/pick; both count the same. Scheduling is in the Studio (and the dashboard) only.
Running the roster
Premium → Cappers lists every capper with their own record, this month or all time. Only members with Manage Server can change it. Each row has a ⋯ menu:
- Pause posting / Resume posting. A paused capper can't post. Picks they scheduled wait; any whose game starts while they're paused are cancelled, never posted late.
- Make head capper. One per server. It's a label, not a permission: when a paused capper tries to post, they're told to ask the head capper or a server manager.
- Leave out of house record / Count in house record. Decides whether this capper's picks count toward your server's record, for all their picks past and future.
- Remove from roster. They can't post here any more and their record freezes at that moment. Picks already posted still grade and count; scheduled ones are held and cancelled at game time. Reinstate brings them back and unfreezes the record.
/pick in Discord always count as yours and put you on the roster. To open the Studio for yourself, give yourself the Capper role. The roster in Discord: /roster
Anyone in the server can run /roster to see your top cappers ranked by units, this month or all time (removed cappers aren't listed). If your server keeps its record private, only managers see it, and only to themselves.
What cappers can and can't do
| Cappers can | Cappers can't |
|---|---|
| Post picks as themselves: singles and parlays, now or scheduled | Change server settings, channels, roles or branding |
| See, cancel and retract their own picks (within the rules below) | See or touch anyone else’s picks, or the house picks |
| See their own record: units, ROI, CLV, by league | Edit a pick once it has posted, or change a result |
| See the server’s record, if the server shows it publicly | See billing, alerts, members or the analytics |
| Change their name on the roster and their new picks | Build or post cards (those are the owner’s) |
Part 2 · For cappers
You need the server's Capper role (ask the owner) and a Discord account. No admin rights, no install.
- Go to sportdataiq.com/studio/servers and sign in with Discord.
- You'll see every server where you have the Capper role. If there's only one, you go straight in.
- Inside a server there are four tabs: Post, My picks, Record and Profile.
- Type
/dmsin the server once, so notices about your picks (like a scheduled pick that's on hold) reach you by DM.
Post a pick
- What are you playing? League and market: spread, moneyline, total, team total, a player prop, a parlay, or “Other” for anything the books don't list.
- The pick. Game lines list today's and tomorrow's games (this week's for football); props cover the player's next game; parlay legs can come from any league. Lines and prices fill in from the books.
- Odds, units, book, write-up. The odds start at the book's current price, and your server's max units applies.
- Feed and when. Free, VIP or both (whichever channels your server has), then Post now or Schedule: at least a minute from now, up to two weeks out, before the game starts.
The preview (beside the form, or behind the eye button on a phone) is exactly the card Discord will get. Your name shows on it once the server has two or more active cappers.
My picks
Only your picks, in three lists: Open (posted, waiting on the game), Scheduled (not posted yet) and Graded.
- Cancel a scheduled pick any time before it posts. It never goes out. To change one, cancel it and post it again.
- Retract a posted pick only before its game starts. It shows as void on the card. An “Other” pick with no game to start can't be retracted.
- Once the game has started, or the pick is graded, it stays on your record.
Your record
All time or the last 30 days: your W-L record, units, ROI and average CLV (how your price compared with the closing line), plus a split by league. Game lines, props and parlays are graded automatically from the box score; “Other” picks are graded by a server manager. You can't change a result.
If your server shows its record publicly, you also see the house record, and whether your picks count toward it.
Your profile
Change the name shown on the roster and on your new picks (cards already posted keep the old one): 2 to 40 characters of letters, numbers, spaces and simple punctuation. Characters like @ # / : ( ) * _ ~ | aren't allowed, and the name can't be one another capper in the server already uses. Your picture is your Discord avatar.
Troubleshooting
| The Studio says | What to do |
|---|---|
| “You don’t have the Capper role here” | The server has no Capper role chosen yet, or the member doesn’t hold it. The owner sets it in Premium → Cappers and gives it to them in Discord. A new role can take up to five minutes to show. |
| “This server doesn’t have Capper Studio” | The server isn’t on the Premium + Capper Studio plan. A server manager upgrades under ✦ Premium in the dashboard. |
| “Premium is off in this server” | The server’s plan has lapsed. Renew it under ✦ Premium in the dashboard. |
| “This server hasn’t set up Capper Picks” | The owner creates the capper profile in Premium → Profile & branding first. |
| “No picks channel yet” | The owner chooses a picks channel in Premium → Profile & branding → Channels & roles. |
| “Your picks are paused” | A server manager (Manage Server) resumes them in Premium → Cappers. Their record and picks are still there. |
| “You were removed from this server’s cappers” | A server manager chooses Reinstate in Premium → Cappers. The record unfreezes. |
| “Couldn’t check your Capper role with Discord” | Discord didn’t answer in time. Wait a minute and try again. |
| “That game has already started” | Picks can’t be posted, or scheduled to post, once the game is on. |
| “Max units for this server is …” | The owner sets the most units a pick can carry, in Profile & branding. |
| “Schedule at most two weeks ahead” or “That would post after the game starts” | Pick a time at least a minute from now, before the game starts and within two weeks. |
| “You’re not a capper anywhere yet” | None of their servers has all three: the Premium + Capper Studio plan, a Capper role they hold, and them still on the roster (not removed). Check they signed in with the right Discord account. |
